don't you find that there are just too many traffic lights on the roads ?

recently near my house, the authorities have installed two more traffic lights in addition to the existing two. so there are now 2 traffic lights for every 20 metres of that stretch of road.

the additional two are not at road junctions, so they are probably installed for pedestrians' convenience. what i can't understand is, why can't people walk an extra 10 metres to cross at the existing traffic lights ?

people are really "soft" and pampered. imagine the disruption to drivers who have to stop every 20 metres..

the irony is, a fatal accident recently occurred at one of the traffic lights. instead of providing convenience to pedestrians, it may in fact become a hazard because it's so distracting to drivers...

I guess so... when the roads are too short, and yet along this stretch of short roads, there are, like 4-5 traffic lights, it could be rather distracting. Especially when the sequence of these lights changing colors aint consistent or well-coordinated, it could really cause major inconvenience to drivers and even pedestrians alike.

i took 172 from jln bahar to JP....
guess what.... such a short distance, there are 10+ traffic lights loh.... the bus stop at bus stop and den stop for the traffic lights.....
it took 30min to reach destination...

kinda stupid..... walk to JP also don need such long timing... zzzzz

haha sometime u may think pedestrain are lazy, soft and unwillling to walk so far. but u ever think of those elderly who are using the roads? one good example is the road from jurong mrt to IMM.. the traffic lights are being installed few mths back and there is a overhead bridge about 10 metres lolx..

ppl are not using the overhead bri and i tihnk it is very danger as alot bangla cross the road and climb over the bar which can be a hazzard.

i guess it is cheaper to install traffic lights than build overhead bridge..and with the aging population..more traffic lights might be a good thing..

or maybe the government juz want to irrate the drivers to they will turn to public transport and thus making singapore more green!!..haha..

Zebra crossing would be good. Why not have more zebra crossing instead of traffic lights.. HAHA

ya... don quite like zebra crossing too... some they just wont stop for you to cross.. or will ramp car when you are still crossing....
furthermore.. they can 'choose' not to stop for you....

Zebra Crossing doesn't work. Cars will not give ways to people walking on the Zebra Crossing.
