Hi, care to share with all of us the most common demerit point deduct for your Class 3 driving LL test experience and how many attempt u pass for a guild to those u taking the test soon?
I start the ball rolling...

1st test - totally screw up but got go out to road, no point mention dun even have the chance to go to debrief room.

2nd test - Strike kerb in directional change 10 point.
Dun observe safety check in directional change 4 points.

Two cause other vech to slow down or take ... action 16 points.
Dun slow down for road hazard 6 points.
Veer off course 4 points.
Slow acc when moving off. 2 points.
Move off wrong gear. 2 points.

Total 44 points. Fail

3nd test - cause other vech to slow down or take ... action 8 points.
dun slow down for road hazard 6 points.
move off in wrong gear - 2 points.

Total 16 points passed. SSDC school

Summary - For me, my main weekness is cause other vech to slow down or take... action, dun slow down for road hazard... Anyone same as me?

Tips to pass Class 3 driving LL test with ease is NOT TO SCREW UP IN CIRCUIT or better still not to even deduct a single point. In this way, the tester will have a good impression of u and will likely to pass u even if u screw up a bit in the road. Actually in circuit, not to deduct a single point is not that hard, all had a "FIX REFERENCE POINT" except slope. Just follow the fix reference point.
For road, pray hard hard first to your GOD pray that
1. Lane Change that time no vech.
2. No road terriost suddenly appear in front of u, esp lorry, bus etc esp esp taxi driver they are the number 1 terriost Taxi driver like to change lane suddenly if they see passange some time dun even on singal. LIke to stop anywhere when passange want to stop. ! ! Be careful when behind taxi during test.
Must pray cos even how skillful u are, when vech suddenly stop or appear the tester will pull handbrake for you and mean u failed.
And most importantly, treat your tester as your love one like i do and make him feel safe in your car.

blind spot.... alot of ppl forget to check blind spot...

i took mine at Comfort Driving Centre.... back in 1996

strike kerb that's a 10 points right, at circuit which courses and do u know where went wrong? if u dun get the reference points wrong for the both parking, S and crank course, directional change and stop do safety check before reversing in for both parking, should be able get 0 points for circuit.

That's wasted, i guess if it's your 2nd 3rd attemp, the tester might close one eye to pass you, first attemp usually more strict. Remember try not to deduct points in the circuit. Good luck, remember get reference point right in circuit and pray pray ! !

thanks alot for the great tips! ...i think basically other flaws i encountered...were ..........i was silly to just use 2nd gear outside....inside circuit i use 2nd gear. i realized my first instructor didnt comment that i can go up to 3rd gear for the outside

turn steering whilst vehicle is stationary - 2pt at crank course, 2 pts at dir change
insufficient acceleration - 2pts
cause other vehicles to slow down or take evasive action - 8pts
wide turn - 2pts
failed to check blind spots - 4pts
failed to check mirror when changing lane - 2pts
hit road side kerb, when u turn - immediate failure

total 24 pts, immediate failure

2nd attempt:
fail to confirm safety - 4pts at crank course
turn steering whilst vehicle is stationary - 2pts
insufficient acceleration - 2pts
fail to slow down when approaching road hazards - 6pts
wide turn - 2pts
total - 16pts passed...

1st test, Strike kerb in crank course, slow in moving off, failed to check blind spot, & lots more cant remember....
2nd test, fogget to turn off signal light after changing lane(1st time warning 2nd time 2pts), & 2pts blind spot....total 4pts deducted....

is a must to drives up to 4th gear at main rd at lease once... 2nd gear means you r crawling...???

Excuse me, let me laugh loudly for a while you mean u are using 2nd gear outside all the way even for main road for the tp test. If it is, i guess u are one of the very extremly few to do that. I hope is during your 1st practical lesson outside the road right then is very understandable if during test, is seriously road hogging and no confidence shown.

For minor road, you should be travelling at around 3nd gear and if in front there hump or slow down strip, you should be travelling at around 2nd gear and brake a bit for hump. You can travel at 2nd gear when you step up gear from 1st gear after moving off traffic light and in front there a lot of car, then is okie to use 2nd gear. For main road and if in front there not many car, step up to 4th gear but keep your speed to around 40-50km/hr never exceed 50km/hr. Dun step acc pedal when down slope and step more acc pedal gear two when going steep slope etc.

In circuit, when doing courses always step down to 1st gear.

Just remember, during test let your tester feel safe sitting at your car.

I took only 1 time to pass, 4 years ago ba, at BBDC... I still remember my first mistake i made when i started to drive off is, forget to put on seatbelt! LoLz! Cos too kan chiong liao! The tester's face like zhong gui like that so firece! Lucky never put seatbelt before moving off only 2 points... But after everything, i passed, with 16 points...

hannor ...quite dumb hahah i used 2nd gear. darn...wasnt told...my first instructor didnt say anything. he just sitting inside bored waiting for his fees.

hey manz i met him unfortunately when i was learning circuit with my 2nd instructor. somehow all these while i knew one day he will 'catch me red-handed'. so happened he had a student queuing at the circuit too... he was carrying this apple walking around and chewing. i knew he spotted me. and geh geh walk like no biz towards the left of my car windscreen. my 2nd instructor was sincerely teaching me, so i looked away. to say, imagine u were caught in such situation where this yaya uncle instructor saw u 'yi qing bie lian' learning from another person...his blood must have boiled so hard....

prob he will ask my 2nd instructor "how am i doing"....

Seems like most of the members here who had class 3 are all 1 time killer, first time pass lor. If all of you still remember, can post around how much u spend before your get your class3. I spend around $3100 + from SSDC total practical lesson + revision + the three warm up test in the student booklet are 44 lesson. Guess i not gifted in driving, take so long, but okie now already pass liao.
