V600 2 b release soon, nice hp
Design From the exterior, the V600 looks very similar to the V66's curved designs. However there are two noticeably major differences. The first is the external LCD. Sitting on the front lid is a 2 lined 96 x 32 px monochrome display. Useful information such as time, date, caller ID, and battery life are shown for convenience. The second is the camera lens right above the external LCD. The integrated VGA camera allows you to take pictures up to 640 x 480 px resolution. The V600 has a compact size of 87.5 x 47 x 22.5 mm. Compared to the T720, it is roughly similar in shape and size. Although not tiny compared to the market, it is small enough to fit comfortably in a pocket, and large enough to find in a dark purse. Basic Features The phone is the first quad-band GSM ever. It operates in 800, 900, 1800, and 1900 bands. Although GSM is global, different continents use different frequency bands for which GSM runs under. For that reason, certain phones which are made for one region are not compatible with another due to frequency limitations. The V600's quad-band capabilities allows users to use the phone anywhere GSM is located. Quad-band GSM technology gives you the ability to stay in touch worldwide, whether you're in Chicago, Cannes or Caracas. Provided a SIM card from a local service provider is put in. Additionally, the V600 comes with a 700 mAh Li-Ion battery that has maximum talk and standby times of 6.50 and 285 hours respectively under optimal conditions. LCD Monitor As mentioned earlier, the V600 comes with two screens. The external is a blue two lined monochrome LCD. When you receive a call, voicemail or text message, the phone activates color notification lights. You can assign different colors of lighting to your preferred contacts, so you抣l know at a glance who is on the line. The internal is an eight lined 65,000 TFT screen with a 176 x 220 px resolution. The internal monitor is larger than most. And is perfect for browsing the web, or viewing pictures in your phone's photo album. Background, screen savers, and games are bright and vivid. And refresh rates are excellent, with minimal ghosting. Ghosts appear when the screen cannot refresh fast enough, and faded remnants of the previous screen don't disappear fast enough. Typically fast paced games pose the most potential for problems. TFT, as opposed to STN, has the circuit transistors placed on the glass at the pixel location instead of the need to scan the pixel location. This results in greatly increasing the response time and allows for very fast refresh rates. Audio The Motorola V600 has the ability to play up to 24 simultaneous instruments for ring tones. Nowadays, all phones are polyphonic. However, anything more than one simultaneous tone is technically considered polyphonic. Typically, 16 is the average on the market, with the best going as high as 40. The V600's ring tones sound very good and definitely enough to please consumers. However, it doesn't have the ability to play MP3s. A new novelty is the ability to listen to music from your phone. In some phones you can also record your voice as a ring tones. Even though the V600 doesn't have these features, it's audio capabilities are very good. Messaging The V600 supports all of the main messaging types: SMS, EMS, and MMS. Additionally, it has the ability to add POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP clients to the phone. Instead of the more widely used T9 predictive text standard, Motorola has instead decided to use Lexicus Software iTAP method. Essentially they are very similar and make creating texts easier by automatically recognizing possible words as letters are being inserted. Entertainment Customizable covers are available to personalize the V600. The structure is metal, with interchangeable covers for the front and back plates. Add your out personal touch by changing backgrounds, screen savers, and ring tones. There's also support for Video Playback MPEG4 and H.263. The V600 is built on the J2ME gaming platform. The V600 comes with a few preloaded games, including the popular MotoGP. Download and install from hundreds of games online. Some are free, others require a fee. The phone has many other useful applications such as organizer and alarm clock with up to 500 entries, calculator, a basic clock and voice control. TrueSync software is included with the phone. Synchronize contacts, and manage the calendar to a PC through either Bluetooth, or data cable. Internet Browse the web using the built-in WAP 2.0 browser with xHTML support. The V600 supports Class 10 (4+2) GPRS for fast transfer rates. Storage The phone has 5 MB internal storage memory. Which is more than enough to store backgrounds, ring tones, games, emails, and text messages. Unfortunately, the phone is not capable of expandable MMC and SD cards. So if you run out of memory, you'll have to remove some things. But it shouldn't be that big of a problem. Connectivity The V600 has Bluetooth. Connect wireless headsets, adapters, or devices to the V600 seamlessly. As mentioned earlier, TrueSync software allows synchronization between the phone and a PC. Whether it's email, or transferring pictures or games, the V600 allows easy connectivity. However, infrared is absent. Many users who have been using an infrared port will be left in the cold. The only other alternative is to purchase the data cable accessory. Conclusion Motorola hopes that the V600 will be as popular as its predecessors, and has added features many users have wanted. A 65,000 color screen, polyphonic ring tones, and Bluetooth are among the many strengths. But perhaps the most appealing quality of the V600 is the quad-band GSM. The idea of a truly world phone will make the V600 a must have for the world traveler. Motorola has announced that the V600 should be available for purchase sometime in first half of 2004. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I thinks there is a new one the V300 if I remember correctly the User interface improved very dramatically and the screen high resolution TFT screen 65K colors damn chio phone IMO. At lease now motorola is doing something right unlike their predecessors. The new generation motorola phones are improving and one interesting to note... The phone is virtually lag free.
