hmm... would like a question, my current monitor use VGA port to connect it to my graphic card, but i do notice a DVI port in my graphic card slot as well. So is there any difference in performance whether i connect my monitor to vga or dvi port in my graphic card?

I would like to DIY a whole new pc soon, any good graphic card to recommended? I need a good graphic card to run most games and also to watch HDMI movie. What does 9800GT or 4850 means? cos from the list i get from sim lim, Asus, MSI, nVidia all got their own 9800 graphic card. i am a little confuse here.

I notice some spec in the graphic card it put HDMI.. does it mean it support HDMI connection to my monitor? if thats the case, do i need to get a monitor which got HDMI port as well?
I also notice some mother board also put HDMI in it e.g Asus P5Q-EM VGA/GBE/FW/HDMI , so what does it actually means?

wad is ur budget? wad is ur screen size? u need to get a monitor with hdmi connector to use the hdmi on graphic card. for mobo with hdmi, the onboard graphic can support hdmi connection.

My budget will be ard $2000, i am getting a Storm Scout ( cooler master casing).Monitor think will be getting a 20-24 inch de.. Any good stylish monitor to recommend?

2k can get a gd pc. i feel samsung monitor is the stylish among all. for monitor, u really have to see it urself. u can get 5870. u can connect the monitor hdmi to the onboard graphic but onboard graphic cant really play new games.

ic, so i dun necessary got to choose a mobo with hdmi function la, as long as i choose a graphic card with hdmi and a monitor with HDMI port, i can enjoy Full HD ? The mobo in this instance had no effect right? And good mobo to recommend ?

for gaming, u need a graphic card. the monitor and source must be hd. u wan intel or amd cpu? for mobo really have to depends on distro location, price, features and etc.

i wan a intel de, will be getting quad core chip.
Ask u, how come i see from the price list, all the xfx nividia card is under 1 section then all the other graphic card like msi, Asus, power color under another section, then both section section also got the 4870 model..

ya.. the fuwell price list. Is it the same model e.g 4870 can give to Asus, MSI or Nividia to manufacture? So the model itself is design by ATI readon, then selling its design to manufacturer like MSI to sell?

they wan to sort it that way. for reference design, all are the same. after that each individual brand will do some changes like using diff quality of components, diff layout, diff cooling system and etc.

I notice the newer version of graphic, all design like a box enclose the components inside, where is a square box, we not able to see the component inside, is it good? the Fan seems like hard to reach during cleaning. Can i get these under $200 ?

ati just released new gen cards. they are gd performance and value for money. now most are reference design hence u see the big plastic case. as long as the intake of the casing got filter, not much dust can go in. under 200 cant get any decent card as ur new monitor resolution is too much for those cards. unless still can find the 4870 at 169. iirc it is a 512mb. it is not suitable too. 5770 = 4870. it cost ard 260.

hmm.. monitor i plan to get SyncMaster P2370HD, is this a good monitor?

anyway, i got another concern, right now, i am using a win xp os, plan to get Win7, but now i am stuck in whether to get the 32 bits or the 64 bits version. Its so troublesome, microsoft should make it in such a way that higher end should support the lower end, meaning the driver for 32 bits should also work for 64 bits, jus like excel in vista can open older excel in xp.
