Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson Customer Care Center.

We appreciate your patience and apologise for the delay in responding to your e-mail.

With regards to your inquiry,
The T610 which was offically launched on the 28th May 2003 in Singapore does not support chinese input. At this point of time, the T610 with chinese input is estimated to be released at the end of June, please refer to the advertisement on SonyEricsson product launching for more information. Due to the fact that SonyEricsson product sold is market dependent, please check with the sales person at the retail shop with regards to which version they are retailing. Please be informed that it is not possible to exchange or convert via software to the T610 with Chinese input.

The Abyss Blue T610 is estimated to be launched at the end of July 2003.

Think there is a cd incl in the package plus it has a feature called QuickShare which i believe some digital cams r using to transfer their photos to the comp....maybe someone who has the hp can enlighten....

One thing i have to admit , I very lazy to read manual. So when spursy sms me this morning for styl's hp number. I ended up having to call him . Cos i only can do text input and not numbers loh. Later i figure out it is to hold down on the number pad to change to numbers.

Besides that overall pretty user frdly. Just need to play abit , i noe where is where le.
The ring tones nice also. Given is 20 tones . Think can save up to more.

Not sure abt other phone but this phone has a picture caller id loh. Meaning if i stored a pic of the person who happen to call me, his/ her pic will flash when the phone rings.

Another feature is auto detect the word u typing . Dunno call wat function .

And when u sms , u can choose to do a draft and dun send. Edit and send later. Meaning all sms are stored in inbox, outbox, unsent ( draft ), sent and archived
sim. It can even tell u how much SMS memory u are left with.

As for the cam function. I think it works pretty well. Pic quality cannot compared to samsung of course but gd enuff liao. And very easy to use. So fun.

Anyway me still figuring how to remove the operator logo. And other functions. Tmrw i will go ck the prices of the assessories.Kekeke

Sony counterpart of Ericsson is really smart loh. So many assessories de. Got a Fm radio , that day saw it cos $50.

Then the blue tooth device for data transfer cost $180 ( i saw in M1 shop )

A blue tooth earpierce cost $149 ( i think unless i see wrongly in Hello Singtel Shop )

Other assessories dun really need lah. ( Eg travel charge, blah blah )

Data Transfer from Hp to PC and vice versa is possible

1) Via an infra red device ( try liao very very easy loh. ) The detection is to be within a certain range.

2) Via Blue tooth Device ( ex !!!!!) , better than infra loh.

3) Via Wap - GPRS thing. Chrgs by kb of data transferred. I cannot figure this out leh cos surfing via hp seems abit slow. Mb i am dumb loh.

A few mins ago , my colleague told me his bro's frd bought a blue tooth earpc for his 3650. One day use only drop on the floor and bye bye the ear pc. BEYOND REPAIR !!!

Now i noe why pple say nokia quality is no gd. Paiseh , no prejudice. My whole family, dad , mum, bro and hubby all support nokia. Dunno why i dun.... weird sia. Just dun attract me bah.

A frd whose number is not in ur hp sms u >>> Think can. Just like a unknown miss call can save in contact.

But if u mean A frd in the sms put another frd's number and sms u that>> then cannot. If u can , tell me how .

Yah i also do that loh. No there is no direct way. So the best is to ask ur frd to call u but give a miss call.

As for the other one, I think only nokia phone has the feature mah. Sony Ericssion older models have meh ? I dunno then.

Btw how abt sending out ? How to forward a contact to a frd then ? Is there other method other then typing it out in a sms ? THis i really dunno wo .

go to phonebook den manage contact, send contact, den choose the way you want it to send...

when nokia user send a biz card to my t610 i receive it as a sms msg.. den have to remember the number and save it myself.. :bw:

Aiyoh, what i did yesterday is to read out the number, punch it direct and give a miss call after a few rings. Then save the miss call loh.

Except that that party may call back and ask u why u call them . kekeke.

when there is a number in the sms.. the number is underline.. den you scroll to tat number.. it will be highlighted den you click the [more] got a option to save that number ;)

Yah yah , i happen to found the feature this morning as well. Kekeke. Lidat makes it even more user frdly le!

Not just that. If there is an email addy or a website eddy, the same feature works, cos it allows u to save and add to contacts or bookmarks.

MMS with music cannot? I never use T610 so me not bery sure.. but I used my P800 no problem.. just that when u send to Nokia MMS phone, it will oni take it as 2 attachment .. it won't play together...

oh ok... thanks... cannot use animated gif as wallpaper right ? the screensaver like useless oso lehz... when the screensaver show up for awhile nia.. den the clock come out liaoz...

1 tip... at phonebook scroll to options den contact infofrom there you can check the other fields options that can be added along with the contact, name, number such as title, company etc.. in case you hafen discover it yet.... ;)

yah animated gif become normal gif when saved as wallpaper.

But if u use animated gif as the screen saver the animation works ok yah. Screensaver is suppose to reduce batt usage i tot. So of course show for a while nia. then go into save batt mode ?

yeah... if there is a DOB is good lor.... den sync with MS outlook easier for me...
in terms of features i still like s57... there is so much fields for you to play around with.. enter in the DOB will auto update to the calendar... and all can sync with MS outlook too... when connected to the computer can browse all the files in the PC while t610 connect via bluetooth i can only browse the designated bluetooth folder :(

too bad s57 not bluetooth and the screen :bw:

erm.. infra you need to align the adapter with your hp for them to detect and transfer files... while BT is by range... a range of 10m meaning within 10m you can establish connection with another BT devices... example i can take pic in my balcony den send the file to my pc in my room...

actually not very sure... that time t610's news just released den read about the BT mp3 player... very chio... but now like no new on it liaoz..

Overall Conclusion

Well, as you can see from our lists of pros and cons that the T610 is a top notch phone. It's no reason everyone was buzzing when they first saw Sony Ericsson release the prototype of the T610. The main 128 x 160 pixel, 65000 color STN display is a wonderful screen. The resolution is sufficiently large, and wonderfully sharp. The T610 can hold its own against the heavyweight Samsung phones that all color screen phones are measured against.

The 32 instrument polyphonic ring tones are very melodic. However, the major addition is the Music DJ application. Create your own ring tones and alerts by overlaying up to 4 tracks. Never before have users been able to compose their own polyphonic ring tones straight on their phones.

Inside, the software has been greatly improved too. The slow menu functions of the T68i was enhanced. Messaging applications such as MMS, SMS, and email were retained and improved upon. And flexibility that Sony Ericsson has been known for was increased to create a complete multimedia package.

With all the pros the cons are far a few. Perhaps the most significant is the lack of memory. At 2MB you won't be able to add many themes, pictures, ring tones, and camera photos. If you like to change the look of your phone regularly, then be prepared to delete often.

The T610 is Sony Ericsson's answer to the continued pressure to produce top of the line cellular phones. Samsung and Nokia started with the V205 and 7250, then Panasonic came in the its GU87. Even though it comes later, the T610 is well worth the wait. After taking everything into consideration, we give the Sony Ericsson T610 an overall rating of:

This cam do have a flash accessory for the photo taking especially in the nite. But hor so far dun think i see them in the shops yet. But can see from the SE sitelink that Godai provided for the view of the flash attachment.

T610 zoom ?? No bah. Wait which phone actually have zoom ? Honestly if u wanna compare the hp cam quality to that of a digital cam >> sure lose the lah. Think the all hp cams are more for candid shots . Not those professional shots lah.

The compact flash I'm referring to is an accessory of the SE T610 my fren is finding it he kind of a "All accessory also want" type of guy(Rich guy now *Hope he never read this lol). Btw thanks!!!

I just today (20th August 2003) went to the Jurong Point SE Service Point to upgrade my software since mine cannot write Chinese characters. The new software is: R1L013 prgCXC12-5585_CHINA_2. I just want to pin-point the fact that you cannot software upgrade to get the Chinese input, which is wrong. Also the new software brings faster menu navigation which is a plus to me. Also the Java icon also changed liao FYI.

If your phone is under warranty, you do not need to pay any price. They only want to see your warranty card only, nothing else. My settings, games, contacts, midis and everything are still the same after the upgrade but they tell you to backup your contacts to SIM card in case........ :blah: you know what i mean.....

One word of advice, clarify with them any doubt before upgrading. If anything in your phone is lose, that's none of my business but I doubt that will be any.

Feel free to go upgrade your phone cause it has only pros only, for me I can say.

I took around 30 minutes to do so, btw there is also another customer in front of me doing the upgrade also. So i think that the time taken will be shorter if there is no one in front of you doing the same thing........

Wait patiently cause they tell me they are using a Pentium 3 computer to upgrade the phone software...... too slow to handle the task. :)

I believe the less-accessible centre at Kallang Pudding should see fewer people. Perhaps you can try there for a prompt service. Anyway, since there are no other places you can go, your presence definitely makes a difference....heh heh..pressurize them. Or u can call them first and ask.

Went to the GoldHill Plaza SC at around 4.30pm yesterday (Sat) and when I ask them to upgrade my T610, they said that it'll take 2 hours :aigo: and I'll need to collect my phone on Monday!!!!! :(

Saw a post somewhere that says it'll only take 10mins.... Why is there such a difference in service??? :confused:

Brother, they closing liao lah. Sat actually is half day man. Also thsy nv open at Sun so they expect you to come on Monday. Next time don't go on weekends.

Where you living and who's your operator? Should not have any problem lah but if still check persist, try upgrading your phone if your software is outdated. If still cannot, try asking the SE there and see how. I believe they will try to find out for you.
