If people got two sim card, Sintel and Starhub, Starhub got free imcoming calls right? so when they recieve that time they switch to starhub to listen... lets say singtel outgoing calls cheaper, they switch to singtel to call people

I think different sim card holders work differently? My friend's has got a switch at the back. After pushing the switch, he needs to reboot the phone by doing the 'EFR' thingy.

Any idea if this will require the user to change the back cover to a thicker one to accomodate the dual sim card holder?

no... it will be tight.. but it still can fit
Chemiluminescent

That'll be good. Guess it'll cost more than those found in shops now; the dual sim card holder is attached to the cover thus making it thicker.

i dun think so u can just user back yr own cover cos the dual sim card holder is just only one thin pieces of card so should not be a problem :)

Well. I'm not sure about other phones, but when I try to put an additional simcard in top of my battery and try to close the battery cover, I can't.

I've heard that you can make use of the Line 1/Line 2 feature in the Nokia phones.

Well. To my knowledge, changing phone lines for Nokia phones usually just consists of 1 step: hold down the # button on the phone itself. Either that or
Menu >> Settings >> Call Settings >> Phone line in use
Something like that.

For the new Series 40 phones, the # key works fine for changing lines.

Yes. That is correct, but as previously posted, for some SIM card holders, the Line 1/Line 2 feature of the Nokia mobile phones are being utilised for the switching between lines.

Eh hold on hold on, so this Dual Sim Card Holder is ONLY using the Line 1 and 2 to change the SIM card...right?
But is it advisable to use it?

Well. I wouldn't say that this SIM card holder will only work with the Line 1/Line 2 function as I have not used it before and have not done any research into this.
With regards with using it, we already have earlier posts by a few members who have said that people they know of, or even themselves, that their mobile phone hangs while using it. So I think that it would be safe to say that the SIM card holder is, at best, buggy.

Augh. Ok. Fine.
1. The Line 1/Line 2 feature can only be found in Nokia handphones.
2. As posted previously, SOME dual SIM card holders are able to utilise the above-mentioned Line 1/Line 2 feature to switch between the two SIM cards inside the mobile phone.
E.g. A SingTel Mobile SIM card and a StarHub SIM card is being put into the mobile phone. Line 1 can then be used for the SingTel Mobile while Line 2 is used for the StarHub line.

Dual sim card holder is very useful for those having two sim card. Although one sim card is activite at a time but when u want to change sim card u just need to press some number will do instead of removing the cover, take out sim card insert new sim card put cover back, and at time sim card drop down and worse people step on sim card spoilt very troublesome right? But disadvantage is the holder is quite bulky and will jam like other said.
On the first place why people need two sim card? Cos maybe a sim card is starhub will allow free incoming call... or use two sim card overall phone bill is cheaper... Does it make sense :)
