Juz go to any search engine and type "animated gif". It will point you to many site. Wat you have to do is to download the gif and upload the gif to your HP.

I use Ulead Gif Animator to resize my gif and upload it to HP via MobiMB. ONLY use Image Convertor if you want to upload still image, they are not design to upload animated gifs.

1st time Gif animator as its name implies... It does not upload anthing to HP. It just Edit gif ONLY.

Regarding ur MobiMB problem. Please read the FAQ on this SECTION.

You can upload animation to your hp. Just that it will not animate when set as wallpaper. You can only view it.

To upload animation, you can use MobiMB.

oso, if you use Nokia's pcsuite 5.01, the animated pic will not move. Use Phone Browser in v5.1 it will be animated then. Or use Mobi

what i have done is i use "GIF movie gear", save the frame one by one and edit it on adobe and and use gif movie gear again to compile the resize pics and save it as gif. i upload it to a free server like geocities and i don't load the file using gprs. as far as i know you can use animated gif for wallpaper on 6610, 6100, 7210 but i will not move. but you can preview it moving.

Wat model are you toking abt?

If is nokia. yes u can upload animated gifs. BUT will only animated in the gallery or when send as MMS. There are also some size limitation. For (MMS) nk6100 is 30kb, nk6610/nk7210 i think is 60kb.

Other model of HP i not too sure.

To upload use MobiMB or Oxygen Phone Manager.

Well... Guess he is wrong... Maybe he thinks you are using animated gifs for wallpaper mah... You did not state what model of HP in the first place also wah.

tag tag does not host pic, poly, apps, games. they only host the wml and its up to you where you will place the jpg, gif files. the files that are on my sites are uploaded in geocities, i use only tag tag because they have this counter for number of visitors, if i did not ned the counter i could just link you directly to my wap site. :gl:

A good program to use to edit pics is Macromedia Fireworks. End results after editing and optimizing are very clear and sharp, and file sizes are very small too. Usually 6 - 7kb only per pic.

The program is also very easy to use if you want to create your own animated screensavers.

Following are some very basic instructions. The rest is up to you to learn. A bit of trial and error involved but most of the basics are here :

To edit and resize pics :
Open the pic. Go to 'View', then 'Grid', then 'Edit Grid'.
Check 'Show Grid' and 'Snap to Grid'. Set horizontal pixel to 128 and vertical pixels to 97. (128x97 is for S300) Click 'Ok'.
You should now see a grid placed over the pic.
If you do not have your 'Tools' window open, go to the menu bar at the top and check 'Tools'.
On the Tools window, look for the 'Crop' tool and click on it. Your cursor will change to the 'Crop' tool.
Crop out the portion of the pic you want, but ensure that the number of vertical squares is the same as the nuber of horizontal squares you crop out. This is so you retain the proportions of the pic.
Double click in the cropped portion. You'll be left with what you've cropped out.
Go to the top toolbar and click on 'Modify', then 'Image Size'. Check 'Constrain proportions' and 'Resample image'. Set horizontal pixels to 128, vertical pixels should set itself to 97 pixels.
Expand the image to make sure it is within the canvas borders. If not then adjust so there's no white spaces along any of the edges.
Click on 'File', then 'Export'. Name the file and that should be it.

To create animated gifs :
Click on 'File', then 'Open'.
Highlight the pics you want to use (up to four unless your pics are low-res).
At the bottom of the pop-up, check on 'Open as Animation'. Open.
Maximize the new window. At the bottom right, click on 'Show Layers'. In the layers pop-up, click on 'Frames'. Double click on the right to set frame delay timings for each frame. 75/100 works for me. Close the layers pop-up.
Go to 'File', click on 'Export Preview'. At the bottom of the pop-up near the centre, click on 'Optimize to size Wizard'. Optimize to 30k. Click ok then save.
There's your animated gif!

Any corrections or additions to the above are most welcome. Enjoy! :gl:

I presume the image is blank when u viewing the image list in gallery. It is blank because it only takes the 1st frame of the gif to be displayed.

ok my bad... misread wrongly...
so before u save they animated but after u saved they appear blank in your gallery?

did u try other way to download animated gif other than using mobi example via wap?

actually if u go to the thread nokia wallpaper request and exchange i think between the page 40 to 50 has a lot mashimaro and pukka animation
and the size fit the s300 very well

depends whether ur hp able to support animated GIF.

eg. Samsung S300 able to supports animated GIF as wallpaper.
T610 able to support animated GIF as screen saver but not as wallpaper.

Just use any image editing software to resize or crop.

Paintshop Pro or Adobe Photoshop work fine.

anyway i would advise u only to size down from larger image rather than sizing up from 128x128 (s40) to 176x208 (s60) cuz the pixels will enlarge & wont look good..
