i heard lotsa stories abt Asia Hotel but i stayed there despite hearing all the tales. i was told not to tk a corner room but i was given one so i had to tk it. it's a very, very old hotel & the corridors are not very brightly lited. thus, the spooky atmosphere. i stayed there for 4 days & 3 nights. nothing happened :)

Imagine I have to type out the story twice as I accidentally refresh the page after the first time...
Heard of Asia - 5th and 7th floor
My personal encounter at Aro**a hotel (Bangkok)
1) There were blood stains on the blanket. chair and under the dressing table... We didnt change room as we are afraid that we wont be able to get a side by side room with our guys...
2) One night, My gal friend saw a flash of white light and she told me about it... The next day, I saw a flash of white light as well... It was daytime, the curtain is closed fully without any gap. You should know those hotel curtain, so thick and how can light even shine through? The white flash was against the picture hanging on the wall.. I still cant figure out where did the light come from?
3) The last day during daytime - My gal friend was in the bathroom (maybe doing some make up or so) and I was standing outside the bathroom chatting with her... The remote control was on the bed... Then suddenly, the tv change channel. How did we know? The language changed! Initially we are watching SCV - think its chinese (or maybe english.. but should be chinese).. suddenly changed to Thai channel... We were stunned and my gal friend looked at me, thinking it was me who changed it. The volume of the tv was loud and it was so obvious that we both realised it at the same time.. really scary...
... If I remember anything else, will post... Creeps...

Yes...
The reason why bangkok hotel is more scary - I supposed is because of the room light. If I were to compare Malaysia vs Bangkok.. I always have this fear when I sleep in the hotels in Bangkok while I sleep well in Malaysia. I always on the light outside the toilet throughout the nights in all the hotel that I stayed.
Though I cant be sure that this is the same for all hotels in that country (perhaps you can share with me about the hotel that you stayed) but this is based on my personal experiences - The room lights in bangkok hotels are very dim and with orange light while those in malaysia are bright with white light... Dim lights definately make one feel unsafe... :(
By the way, Asia hotel's corridor has been re-renovated. The last time I visit bangkok was in July 2006 and we went up to have a look. I supposed the room should have been renovated as well..

My relative was in Bangkok not sure which hotel.. That night sleeping, saw an enitity in the room with them floating around for a long time... The three of them all saw it but dare not make any sound.. Jia jia sleep but shivering under the blanket
Spooky mate. The last time I went to Thai, stay over at a guest house own by my dad's friend. Lucky no disturbance except that the balcony and toilet is quite spooky at night.

I stayed in asia hotel 3 years ago. Old and dim....does feel a bit spooky and i was having fever. Luckily din encounter anything. BUt when i checked out and was waiting for the transport to fetch me at the main door, a lightning strike amidst heavy storm. WHOLE Hotel power shut off and became super dark suddenly. I can't imagine those stuck in the rooms, how are they feeling at that time..phew..

Wonder whats the rage against Asia Hotel. I stayed there for 5 nights consecutively and did not feel the least bit threatened or spooked.. I was on the 6th floor, right next to room 666. There was one night I even stayed in my hotel room there alone... and it felt so cosy, like many other hotels I stayed in before.

what abt shadows appearing out of nowhere? esp fr the bathroom? and they are not from asia hotel... heard fr friends staying other hotels.
another case of asia hotel, my ex col's friend was sleeping at night. and then suddenly he felt his leg got pulled at the edge of the bed. pulled quite a few times and it got his friend v v scared. heard he smoked and blasted his mp3 player until the next morning.

I agree there are many hotels in bangkok that are dirty. Bud not all. I went to Bangkok when i was in primary 4. For the first 5 nights, we stayed in a hotel called Pathuwan princess i think. That hotel was fine, very comfy stay. Then the last 2 nights, we went over to Pattaya. Stayed in Royal smth hotel. Cant really remember the name.
That hotel was spooky. The moment i stepped into the room, i felt uneasy. There was a smell in that room bud i can't figure out what smell it was. And from the window, there's like some kampong or smth. In the night, the dogs keep howling. For that whole 2 nights, i could not fall asleep. I kept hearing sounds from the toilet. Adding to my insecurity, the room was VERY big. there's 4 single beds. 2 on each side. I guess my family members felt it too. So we moved the 2 beds from the other side and joined it together with the other 2. It was a scary experience.

I went Bangkok and stay in Asia Hotel June this year. First night cant sleep at all. Strange feeling (dun know how to say but just feel uncomfortable). I travel a lot, never had such feeling before (may be there is 'something') Then I fall sick on my 3rd day, vomiting like hell. At first thought is food posioning, but my friends eat the same thing, but nothing happened to them. Me just unlucky, I think.

I've been to Bangkok many times.. and stayed in Asia hotel a couple of times too.. i have to admit.. the hotel is pretty old and kinda spooky.. I dont really like the toilet.. i get the creeps.. haha.. but i've not seen anything or experienced anything weird either.. i guess it's like mind over matter.. it's how the ambiance of a place affects the mind.. i'd still go back to bangkok.. it's a place with good food and shopping..
