we couldn't find it at first.. then dunoe where, pop out one 2lt.. from tekong one.. got the pass and everything.. din really look @ the pass.. then asked him if he knew anything about the charlie company.. he said he knew n brought us to see the building..

it was indeed demolished.. just left the concrete on the ground nia..

then turn around wanna ask him, he vanished.. couldn't find him..

Then like very errie.. then we went back to our admin area...

during my BMT on tekong, many strange things happened, but none that i've encountered personally... i think if you just think right, and don't let it affect you, you should be fine.

i think pork is allowed right? but they need to be blessed and stuff? isn't pork served at cookhouse (non-muslim area, of course). at least, that was what i was told... i can't remember for sure.

anyway! i had a section mate, who studied overseas for many years and disblieved the idea that unblessed pork can't be brought in... so he made his grandfather buy a big pack of bak gwa for him.

***, he was walking all over tekong eating it during parents visiting day... all the regulars i think also a bit shocked but didn't say much cos his parents with him.

immediately that night for no reason, he kena fever AND pneumonia. i mean, the onset of pneumonia would have some symptoms like coughing and what not, but his came immediately.

then he keep getting fever siah. never got better... in the end my OC went temple to pray almost everyday when he found out what happened, and set up some praying stuff on his own and some other regulars.

he got better the next day (not full recovery). although it could be a co-incidence, it's kinda strange about the onset of the illness.

another guy who was an accounts graduate went to the toilet one night, saw another guy outside the toilet. he said... "oi, f**ker! you also high tide cannot sleep is it? taken a piss yet? faster pee and go back to bed lah! tomorrow outfield leh, ch** by*!"

he cursed some more when he came out of the toilet... but then when he reached his bunk, he realised something wrong, cos of the color of the clothes the other "guy" was wearing.

the graduate wasn't wearing specs, and was quite groggy as he just woke up, so he wasn't sure what he saw, and quickly ran out to see if the guy is still there, but didn't see anyone...

and all the other section's bunk doors are closed and he didn't hear any of them open or close... the next day... he also kena fever. in the end fever until OOC.

another time in my section... when i came in from toilet, saw a group of people huddled together whispering, and found out... that in the middle of the night before, the jockey cap that's hung on the side of the locker...

started swaying on its own!

first it began gently... then more and more! it was swinging in a way that it can't be the fan or the wind... why cos it just immediately went back to the normal position from the wild swinging it was in.

and more than 1 guy saw it... i think about 4 guys... all facing the locker.

i think the only time i had an encounter was in OCS when i was on wing CDO... i was sleeping when the phone rang... so i identified myself and asked who the caller was looking for...

*silence*

then... wah lao eh, a damn erie female voice siah. i mean, i don't think will have female callers at that time in the night from within SAFTI... plus where do people get the number from???

she kept saying "i'd like to talk" and she kept repeating inbetween long silences. i tried to wake my cadet sergeant up, but... the bloody ass was sleeping.

i asked if she'd like to leave a msg... i identified myself again, asked her if she's looking for someone... no matter what i said...

"i'd like to talk"

i hung up siah. it was about midnight when the call came...

i crawled back up to my bed and after about i think 10 or 15 minutes... suddenly another wing's CDO came and asked why MIDO can't call through...

so i went to check the phone to see if i mishooked the cradle, but nothing wrong... so i picked it up to test call (and explain) to MIDO or ASDO... put the phone to my ear.

*silence*

"i'd like to talk"

in the old smm, there is a training area, used to be a small mortury. reputred that lthey use to store specimens of body parts there, and also, got one accident where someone was killed in camp, the body was place there. since then, prowlers doign duty will report funny sounds sometiems coming out from inside.

nee soon camp, white house is very popular. prowlers always report got lights and sounds coming from it. some of my men got this experience where the wild dogs will follow the pworlers to the white hse, but stop short of going near it. then somehow rejoin themn when they done the white house part.

I heard of this story last time when i was in tekong too ... theres another story from charlie coy. I heard from my fren somewhere who was enlist during 2001 jun bmt intake.

They were doing guard duty and prowling dunno where when a recruit saw a figure like sadako - long hair, white dressing. He then freaked out, and shouted ghost and pointed to the ghost. The ghost then disappeared, and they thought thats the end of the story.

The next day at night, after they were released from duty, they were sleeping in the bunk, when at 12am or 1 am, the same figure appeared at the Charlie COY, the ghost was at the window of the bunk, along the corridor. The person that shouted ghost was sleeping next to the window. The ghost placed its arms above his face dunno sucking wat or doing wat. At this moment in time, his buddy saw wats happening, and shouted. The whole section woke up, and all saw the ghost's hand above the guy that shouted ghost. The ghost had bloodshot eyes - full red, no white part. The whole section then keep shouting, wanting to wake the guy up. They then threw their pillow at him to try to wake him up, he managed to wake up, and the whole section was soon together "shoulder touch shoulder" at one end of the bunk. They keep shouting and shouting, then the ghost disappeared.

For a few days following the 1st attack, the ghost followed up with a sequence of attacks, all occured at the same timing. 12 or 1 am, cannot remember exactly. On one of the nights, the sergent on patrol went up to the bunk and saw the ghost, threw his beret at it, but it simply flew thru.

Before they bookout, the revelent parties - CSM, OC were informed and priest went to the coy during the weekends. After that, things went back to normal.

Anyone during that BMT batch ?? Jun 2001, its PTP enhanced batch. Ever heard of this story ??

hmmm u all now live in the chalet-type of camp right?? never expect that charlie coy still so 'fierce' :ls:

i think for those older batch in camp 1, before the chalet camp start, knew that Charlie Coy was actually closed down... so the companies sequence is A, B, D, E..

the story being that there's a Charlie Boy who went missing while training and was found dead days later... after which the bunk where the Charlie Boy used to stay became haunted... there were sayings that 'he' was trapped in the bunk and could not be released to the other world... so in the end, rituals were conducted and eventually charlie closed down.

the bunk was said to convert into recruit mess of Delta Coy later... which i was in! but nothing spooky leh...

Story of Mysterious Death of Army Recruit (1)

I was a recruit in Pulau Tekong back in 1994.

It was during preparation for my BMT Pass-out parade, I was one of the few 'volunteers' who enter the infamous Charlie Company Bunk with the 3rd door to help carry out some stores. The bunk was converted into a store room during that time.

The third 'door' was actually a thin wooden plank, painted blue at that time. It had no knobs, padlocked & not in good condition.

It is said that though the lights is off every night, it would be ‘on’ every morning. It is also reported that every morning recruits entering the store would find human hair on its floor.

This is my version of the story.

A platoon while on a route march realise at the end of the march that a certain recruit was missing. He was found dead, with the chankol blade embedded in his body.

The body was sent back to the mainland. But the next few nights those sleeping near the deceased recruit bed would be affected by strange happenings. Finally a Chinese priest was consulted. The priest said that the spirit of the recruit couldn’t follow the body back to Singapore, as it couldn’t cross the water, and after ‘investigations, suggested opening the 3rd door at the bunk, to ‘release’ his spirit.

The bunker in Pulau Tekong looked exactly like the bunks in BCTC Pasir Lada Camp.

Story of Mysterious Death of Army Recruit (2)

Being a army officer stationed in Pulau Tekong, I (Platoon commander Colin, from a company in Camp 1) have to take special induction training courses in order to perform my duties as a platoon commander.

In one special session, which I unfortunately missed, but my fellow officers told me, it involved a Mindef Directives on not conducting training on Thursday nights. The reasons cited included an increased risk in accidents, injuries and incidents occurring in Thursday Trainings in the evening. The session included an actual case study of a mysterious death of an army recruit. The incident supposedly occurred in the 1970s.

Basically it involved the incident of a recruit who went missing halfway through a route march. First the platoon, then the company, then the camp, and eventually the entire island was mobilized to look for him. They found him the next day, with his body disemboweled, along the route of the route march.

I am aware there is a 3 door bunk in Charlie Company. I am not aware there is a connection with this story I just mentioned. I believe that the 3 door could have been built for a reason, whether paranormal or not.

Story of Mysterious Death of Army Recruit (3)

I heard this story from my army mates back in late 1980s, whom I believe may have belonged to the time when this event occurred. The story should have occurred just a few years before I heard about it.

It was said that in Pulau Tekong, there was a rout march conducted for a group of army recruits. That day they rested somewhere, and when they were about to set off, 1 particular recruit said he needed to rest a while more, and asked the rest of his comrades to go ahead.

After awhile when that platoon realized that that recruit did not catch up with them, they went back to the place they left him. He wasn’t there.

Then they searched in vain, reported back to camp about the missing recruit, and the entire camp searched the island in vain.

The body was found after the 2nd or 3rd day, just below a tree, very near the place where they last left him. There was no wound to be found on him. He was lying facedown.

They did not know how he died, or why they couldn’t find him in the first place, so near their last resting place.

I did not know, nor am aware of any connection of my story to the 3rd door bunk, which I am not aware of.

Ghost Sounds in Nee Soon Camp

I was in an instructor in Nee Soon Camp back in 1989 to 1990.

At that time I was a corporal in Camp One, Hotel Company, a 3 storey building at the edge of the parade square. Behind our building lies a deep ravine that winds its way to the Mandai Columbarium some distance away.

Nee Soon was a training camp for young army recruits, who must spend their first 3 months in basic military training before deployment into their active 2 or 2 and a half year of military service.

I was in platoon 20, and my bunk was on the 3rd floor. 2 staircases at both end served the building, and my bunk was the first room at the left staircase. A long corridor ran from one end of the staircase to the other, and right in the middle, runs another corridor that lead at right angle to the toilet and bathing points. On both sides of that corridor were placed two rolls of broomsticks, and the WCs and Urinals is divided on the right, with the shower points to the left.

I remember that on that night, the recruits were given the night off, but I stayed behind, and was trying to sleep. Directly below me, on the second floor, was the Muslim Prayer Room, where some Muslim recruits, together with my fellow Corporal Tahir, stayed behind too, and they were chatting inside.

Halfway through my sleep I was disturbed by some ‘thumping’ sound. I chose to ignore it till I realise that it was coming from my metal cupboard. As soldiers we were all issued with a single bed and a single doored metal cupboard.

It was a repetition of just 2 thumps at a time. “Thump Thump” I raised up my head and looked at the cupboard. “Thump Thump”, There it went again.

I got up and step closer to my cupboard, and peered nearer. “Thump Thump”.. This time I heard the noise coming not from my cupboard, but from further away. It would seem to have come from the toilet.

I walked out of my room to the corridor. “Thump Thump” The sound seem to have got louder. As I walked along the corridor I heard the sound even more clearer. Yes.. it was definitely coming from the toilet.

I turned into the middle corridor. As I approached the toilet, passed the racks of broomsticks I could not hear anything. I walked into the row of shower points and peeped into each compartments. Nothing. I walked over to the other side and checked out the wcs and urinals. Nothing.

I then commenced to take a leak at the urinal. Just then, exactly infront of me, behind the wall where the shower points were, came a very loud “Thump! Thump!”

I ran as fast as my 1.6m tall frame could ran, down the long corridor, pass my bunk, to the second storey, and into the Muslim Prayer Room where Corporal Tahir and the other recruits were chatting away.

“Shhhh… Listen!” I told them. They listened.

“Thump Thump”… “What’s that?” Some one asked. It was coming from above. I told them it was from the toilets.

Then the whole lot of us went out to investigate. We crept up the staircase to the 3rd floor.. “Thump Thump” … The sounds booming loudly in maybe 5 seconds interval as we walked pass my bunk down the hall.

Then just as we turned into that corridor the sounds stopped. Feeling scared we took up the broomsticks from the racks and proceeded to investigate. We scoured all the compartments. Finding nothing, we walked back, replaced the broomsticks, and turned back into the corridor.

“Thump Thump” The sound came back the second we turned. We all ran down the corridor, down the staircase and into the Muslim Prayer Room.

After some agitated discussion (which I forgotten what) Corporal Tahir asked me to sleep and stay there with them. I agreed.

However, after awhile, egged by very sleepy eyes, and noisy racket of languages I don’t understand, I told them that I would go back to my bunk and sleep.

As I lay back on my bed, I heard it again… “Thump Thump” This time it was quite faint… and looking out of my window, as I looked down into the dark ravine I heard it again…… it was coming from the ravine.

As I continue staring I heard the sounds again in maybe 10 seconds pauses, “Thump Thump” …. The sound seemed fainter and further away with its thumping.. as it disappear eventually in the direction of mandai Columbarium.

Tired out, I think I collapsed immediately into bed and slept.

This is my true encounter, narrated by myself, Goh Ann Long of Hotel Company Nee Soon Camp, SBMT.

Bed shaking in Pulau Tekong

During my basic military training in Pulau Tekong in 1997, there were a number of supernatural occurrences, but what seemed most intriguing was that of the bed shaking incident. There was once when two of my platoon mate complained to my Sergeant that their bed was shaking, more accurately, someone or something was kicking their beds while they were sleeping at night. It was a pretty big thing, as our Sergeants actually accompanied us in our bunks when we slept at night, they even enforced that if we were to go to the toilet at night, we were supposed to get out buddy to accompany.

The reason why they joined us in the bunk was that as recruits, we did not have the privilege to posses the SAF Crest, which is usually found on all berets. The Sergeants on the other hand, had. The thing about the Crest was that it was told that it has been blessed by the four religions in Singapore. The poster of the SAF pledge was also ordered to be pasted at the exits of the bunk.

Realizing that the problem was only pushed aside and not solved at the root, the Sergeants realized that this disturbance occurred only after our “Parents Visit Day”. Remembering also that The Chinese New Year had just passed and Tekong used to be a Muslim island (that’s why pork could never be brought into the bunks), the Sergeants came to the conclusion that some ignorant parents probably brought some pork (maybe BBQ pork), ate in the bunk and possibly dropped some in the bunk.

Thus a proper area cleaning of the bunk was done. What exactly was the cause of the kicking could not be confirmed, but my friends had more peaceful sleep after the area cleaning…….

Does that mean that what the Sergeants concluded was right? Well, the truth is out there………

Pulua Tekong School Terror

As an NSman I am the GPMG Commander belonging to 524 SIR, Delta Company, Platoon 16, part of 2 PDF.

I remember during one in-camp we had to stay in Pulau Tekong for 2 nights. Those were two nights that few of us would forget. As we look back as our boat left the island, it was with a relief. Those 2 nights left a deep impression on us that most of us who went through won’t forget.

Those two nights were spent in an old abandoned (I think) primary school. Ask around, anyone who had to stay in that school in Pulau Tekong were bound to have some encounter or another.

Well, this is my story.

I was the advance party, and our group arrived at the school in the afternoon to do to do the initial setting out.

The school building was typical of the older primary school that can be found on the Mainland. Long rows of single storey classroom, with the canteen (a little shop) right at the far end. Two companies shared that school during our stay. The other company took the front rows of classrooms, while my company took the back classrooms.

I remember as I was setting my station I keep looking at the open, broken down empty space that was what the canteen store once was. I remember feeling queer, and a bit afraid.

Well that night my company came back after training. I remember walking pass the other company, seeing their lit up rooms, with small laughter, and snatches of chitchats drifting to my ears. And I remember when walking to the classrooms where housed my company men, the lights seemed dimmer, the men more sombre, the atmosphere more quiet.

Eventually after all the hassle of bickering and other army stuff we settle down to sleep, each platoons in a classroom. We all of course slept on the floor.

Then it began.

I remember I had a dream, or thought I had a dream. You see, I had a big mongrel of a dog then. Often it would come to me and lick my face with her slopping big tongue, pasting its saliva all over my face.

And so I dreamed that my dog licked me. I remember giggling out in real-time “hee..hee..hee…..” as I squirmed to get away from its invading tongue.

Then the scream happened. It was a loud scream, following by wailing. Everyone got up and rushed to where the screams occurred.

When I reached that classroom it was a flurry of activity…. There were some men looking very shaken, there was 1 who was crying, and almost everyone was looking pretty scared.

Slowly the stories emerged. It would seem that most of the men in that bunk had seen something of sorts. There were even talks of someone floating up in the air.

I regret I didn’t remember all the sightings, saved this one.

One man was sleeping, when he realised he was being licked by something. He (I am not sure here) opened his eyes and saw a figure next to him… apparently after that he screamed… the man sleeping next to him supposedly sat up, and he said that he was pushed with great force to the wall. A third witness was the sgt, who was resting by the door. The malay sgt said that in-between nodding of his head to sleep, he spied a white figure standing by him (the man who screamed). He said that he couldn’t see the face, as ‘her’ back was towards him. But he said that he noticed there was something long and dark coming from where the mouth supposedly to be, and hanging down to the floor.

The malay sgt said the he saw the man screamed, saw the man next to him being shoved aside, as the white thing zoomed passed him out of the door.

There were many other stories, but I couldn’t vouch for them, as they were told after the incidents. Like the night guard who saw figures in the big field, and a sharp pointed eared man who said that he saw two figures sitting up in the trees that same night.

But back to the story. The next day, we had our training, and returned back to the school to sleep. I remembered that everyone who slept in that bunk refused to sleep. They were about 30 men, and each of them sat together, burning their white SAF issued candles. I remember the OC asking them to sleep, and they said they would sit out the night.

Then I don’t remember so well. All I recalled was that everyone slept. And the screams happened again. I remember hearing that the OC was the first one to reach that classroom. And I, regrettably, do not remember what happed after that.

My next memory was leaving the island, in my boat, and looking back at the reducing landscape that was Pulau Tekong, and thanking the gods above that we have left that place.

Assorted Spooky Places

BISHAN

There are many Ghosts in Bishan, many years ago before Bishan was developed, the area around RI was cemetery and burial grounds. Don't know about the current residential areas though. But there are many reports of wandering ghosts and spirits in Bishan. Dunno if anybody remembered a Samsui woman was found dead in a construction lift with her head and body severed by the opened lift door in Bishan? The unit that her head overlooked, there has been a murder of an Indian woman in that very sam! e ! unit. If you are wondering why I knew so much about Bishan, well, I happened to have a mother that works in that area and she had been seeing "UFO" after the clock hit 6pm.

BISHAN PARK

I've a rumour that if you were to go strolling in Bishan Park in the evening or later, do bring along some sweets. There is this particular bridge in Bishan Park that has a soul of a little child. Every time someone pass the bridge, the child would ask for a candy. If you don't have any, the child might just scratch your face or show you something bloody.

LIDO TOILETS and SOME COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS

Lido Cinema Ladies Toilets. Documented cases of hauntings! Do a search of Straits Times if there is an online database. If I'm not wrong, this stories applies only to the old Lido, i.e before it was renovated. Word has it that certain rows of their seat are always empty. And you know who they are reserved for 18th & 19th Floor toilets & the fire escape staircases, SLF building, 510 Thomson Road. Someone regularly burnt incense papers. Don't ask me what is in there, I don't know. Every time I went to the toilet at night, my hairs stand on their ends. Try it after 22.00hrs and especially on 7th month. Don't ask what is in there.

CHESTNUT

There's a house in Chestnut near the cemetery and church, corner semi detach. (but nothing to do with the cemetery) heard that people shift in, shift out, shift in, shift out. Someone got a monk, but no use. And someone got a priest, but the crucifix broke. Now it's for rent.

FORT SILOSO IN SENTOSA

Another rumour about Fort Siloso in Sentosa. Notice the shape and the position of the fort (shaped in a crescent). A lot of British soldiers were thrown off the fort. It's known that wailing of men could be heard at night. The fort closes at 6pm.

TEKONG JACOB'S LADDER

Saw a female silhouette sitting on the top of Jacob's Ladder at Tekong Camp 1 while doing prowling with another platoon mate. Heard about the jacobs ladder too. She was waiting for her husband who went out to sea and hasn't return since. Once in a while, she'll remove her head to comb her hair. Hearsay, didn't see b4.

Comments by SPI Agent ET:
The one about the Jacobs ladder in Tekong, I thought the story was that this gal got raped and got buried under the ladder, dressed in red? Anyone know of a similar interpretation?

TEKONG JAGUAR CAMP 3

There was a story about a recruit at Jaguar at Camp 3 who brought a pork bun into the bunk and kept it in his locker. Apparently his locker started shaking violently or he became possessed. They had to call in the Exorcist for this one. One of my section mates' parent bought charsiew rice for him during Parent's visiting day which he consumed in the bunk. Had high fever for a few days. Sometime after he brought dried pork (if you know what I'm trying to say) in and consumed in the bunk, fell sick again, high fever for a few days. Was in 2bts for my BMT. My sgt told me that he was woken up in the morning thinking that it was time for 5 BX when he realised that the voices were of children playing. Still remembered that we were not supposed to eat anything that had pork inside the bunk. Seems that the bunks at camp 1 were built over Malay cemeteries. After BMT, I went back to tekong as an officer cadet for exercises. One of which was nite topo at the oil palm plantation (east of the island) there was a checkpoint known as SQ. It was also known as the Japanese Karaoke point. We heard jap, songs drifting to us when we were there.

Comments by SPI Agent ET:
AS for the bringing pork into the bunk story, I can verify that. I used to serve my BMT in Pulau Tekong Camp one. Those old single story ones…. After one fateful paren’t visiting day, for a few nites, beds in the bunk next to mine were “shaking”, as in more like someone was kicking the bed. It wasn’t experienced by me, but my platoon mates. One of them even saw “his buddy” climb down from the upper bed and walked out of the bunk in the middle of the night, and only to find out that his buddy claimed that he never left the bed the entire nite!!! The sergeants came to know of this and they accompanied us in the bunk at night, as they had berets with the SAF crests on them. (These crests as well as the posters of the SAF pledge were said to be blessed by four religions in Singapore). Posters of the SAF pledge were also put up on the doors on both the entrances of the bunk. The bed kicking still continued and then, that was when the sergeants realized that these occurrences could have been due to someone bringing in pork into the bunk [think it was just after Chinese New year in 1997, thus we all suspected that one of the parents unknowingly brought BBQ Pork (Bak Kua)]. Thus a major area cleaning was carried out hoping to wash away any pork substances…….Amazingly, the “kickings” stopped after the area cleaning………

OLD NEE SOON CAMP

Some of the army camps here are haunted from what I gathered from my army buddies. Of which, majority thought the old Nee Soon Camp was "extremely" haunted. If really need to go there, please bring along full protection against the unearthly beings. Challenge the CO to stay in the building alone if he doesn't believe it. Feel free to contribute if you think there are other haunted camps to look out for.

LAKIUN CAMP

What is tekong compared to lakiun camp (brunei jtb)? With several people collapsing ! in! side a certain bunk at different instances (quite a spooky place, I must say), foaming at the mouth and yet the medical officer cannot detect anything wrong with them and they were immediately brought back to Singapore! Finally, the camp commander ordered the place to be out of bounds that even those on guard duty do not have to prowl near it. A bomoh was asked to perform rites and that set things right.

TEKONG CHARLIE COMPANY

Heard of the 3 door bunk of Charlie company of tekong? It was converted into an instructors' office and b4 moving in,a taoist was brought in to perform some rituals. Some experiences - When my mossies net's stick fell on me at 3 am, I woke up to see "the old man of tekong". He was figeting in front of my buddy's cupboard, I didn't call out to him. Don't ask me why, but I juz didn't. Then I had nitemares till morning as u guys should know, mossis nets is compulsory in tekong, my platoon mates fixed up his net and went to zzz, he woke up in the middle of the nite to find the net neatly tucked under his pillow, he put it up again to find the same thing happen. Once, the whole bunk heard children laughing & running round & round the whole bunk, no one dares to investigate.

TEKONG LAUGHING TREE

Have u guys seen the laughing tree of Tekong? We recruits were brought on a hill to draw I forgotten what u call that, kinda picture to familiarise urself with the surrounding, arc of fire thingie. There, rite in front of us is the laughing tree. Story is that, a recruit while marching laughed at the tree during day time. On their way back, the tree laughed back at him.

Pulau Tekong 'C' Company 3 Doored Bunker

All long bunkers where army recruits sleep and have lessons in Pulau Tekong Camp 1 have two doors. One at each end of the bunker, which is a type of long houses. All except one. There was this lecture room bunker in Charlie Company that had 3 doors.

There are many stories about why there are 3 doors. Here is one of them.

In the past that platoon went for field training, one of the recruits went to see a doctor that morning and so wasn't in the strength counted for that morning. On that day after lunch, the sick recruit joined the company. The corporal however didn't know that and counted strength before moving out. He counted correctly and so moved off. Unbeknown to him there was actually one recruit missing, but the sick recruit arrival made up for the shortfall, and so the loss went unnoticed.

Till at night when they had to return their weapons to the amoury, that they found one weapon missing, and so the missing recruit was realized.

On that night a massive search was carried out but they could not find that missing man.

Till the next morning he was found next to the tree where the company had earlier rested, except that the recruit was quite dead... His full pack items neatly laid out on the ground, except for the Changkol blade which was missing. Eventually found to be embedded inside the stomach of that recruit, with the blade handle inside the blade STICKING OUT.

The dead recruit was brought back to the medical center but the center refused to take him in, fearing the patients may be alarmed by it. So the corpse was brought back to the bunk and an autopsy performed that very day. The corpse was sent back to Singapore after that.

Then the haunting begins. The dead recruit bed would shake violently, and several times scratches with blood streaks could be seen on the next recruit that slept on the deceased bed. For several times that recruit was thrown off the bed. Finally an exorcist was called in. The priest o-informed them that the recruit spirit couldn't leave that bunk, and a 3rd door have to be made in the center of the bunker.

So when the third door was made, that night, the whole Pulau Tekong camp was chased back to Singapore and the ritual conducted. Since then, we did not know if the recruit ghost left that bunker or not. And we will never know because the bunker was converted to a lecture theatre. But of because it remained deserted and unused.

I was a recruit in Pulau Tekong in September 1987. At that time Charlie company 3 door bunker was still around. I was on guard duty and have to patrol the whole camp, including walking pass that bunker and 3rd door. creepy, though I didn't see anything.

I did manage to glimpse inside once while passing by. It was fully boarded and the inside very dark. There were many colored papers spilled all over the floor. Though designated as a theatre it is entirely empty with colored strip of talisman papers all over.

Is there a truth to this story? If not why was this the only bunker out of at least 100 bunkers to have this 3rd door? Why designate it as a lecture theatre but leave it empty? Why seal up all the windows? The door was locked at all times. But on that day it opened. Was it really open? Or did I entered into another realm unknowingly and saw that open door?

There were stories following this one. That there was to be no night training on Thursday night because that recruit was killed on Thursday night.

Story 1

following that fateful night a company of men lost their way on Thursday night and though they try and try but still couldn't find their way out... Instead they ended at the same intersection - the tree where the boy was found.

Story 2
Two commanders who scoffed the idea of no night training on Thursday left to stay outside. They were both found dead the next day. You guess it, at the same tree. One was lying on the ground, and the other was hanging high up on the tree. On both their faces were the look of extreme fear.... They were both frightened to death.

And such was the stories told to me as a young recruit back in 1987.

My OC didn't believed such stories, and we had night training on Thursday nights as usual, but fortunately with no incident.

There were many incidents there where experiences were shared by everyone in the bunk. We were from Delta Company platoon 16.

On our first nite we heard a great marching of boots, and loud commands giving out. The next day we asked our corporal why there was training on the first night of in-camp. In Singapore army the first two weeks are known as orientation weeks, with no hard training. The corporal replied us the same... simply there was no night training at all. So what were those marching noises? So loud that there must be hundreds of men and so near that they must be just outside my bunks?

Then there were many times while asleep we would suddenly wake up. That's because we had visions of cupboards banging and people waking up... and when we did wake up... it was in the still of the night... it's all true.. because we talk about our weird waking moments almost every day..

There was once we heard young children laughter. Not just me... half the bunk heard it. Someone said they are ghost children..

During my reservist back in Pulau Tekong we had other adventures, that made grown men cry, big strong men in their thirties grown mature in thinking to huddle together and vowed not sleep. And when we left Pulau Tekong, it was with signs of relief.

We spent two nights in a haunted school. Want to hear the story? It really happened, and I am [proud] that I experienced it first hand. But that's for another time... soon I promised.

Female Voices in CCK Block 6

Would like to share a story (only that you don't publish my real name) that I experienced personally during my army days. This was 1991.

After BMT, I was posted to School of Signals at Stagmont Camp for 7 weeks of Basic Signaler Course. Camp was an eye-opener as it was like a holiday camp compared to the crummy SBMT (well, I have another one on that) where I came from.

OK, as signalers, we have to go through radio and line course. Line means that we use field telephones instead of mobile radio sets. The most difficult part is to "lay the line" as we call it - basically run from point A to B and connect 2 telephones while making sure we give enough slack for maintenance. In Line training, there is this exercise to lay it in built-up areas, which is basically a building.

Off we went on a short ride to this abandoned govt blocks in Chua Chu Kang. It was an afternoon. We were split into 12 teams and 2 teams are tasked to lay line all the way to the 6th floor of each abandoned building by entering from the two staircase entrances located at each side of the building. To my best recollection, there were 6 blocks, 5 together and an isolated one about 50 meters away down a slope. My team together with another were bloody unfortunate to be tasked to lay Block 6 - yup, the isolated one. Was not so much about goblins and ghosts then but for the fact that each team is timed on their mission and the last team has to do push ups on the hot ground full of sands and stones - a real bummer. We had to work faster.

I was detachment-in-charge and my responsibility was to run as fast as I can to the block, run up the stairs to the 6th floor, cist the cable and connect it to the phone, check communications and run back to report with my mates. The other 2 of my mates have the responsibility of covering up the line and allow enough slack. As I ran like hell up the stairs, something made me look back at the corner on the 4th floor. I saw nothing. When I reached the 6th floor and started working with my pliers, I heard a female voice talking in the empty rooms. Pressed for time, I was not thinking much about it. But as I was finishing my job, the talking which I could not make out what was said as they were kind of mumblings, grew louder and it sounded like that female was losing an argument (you know how they are). Next thing I heard was a loud bang, exactly like slamming of a door. What made me froze for 3 seconds was that several other doors also slammed shut one after another.

At that point, I have finished my job, and ran downstairs by jumping each staircase from the 2nd or 3rd step. I didn't say anything because not being the last detachment to report back took utmost priority for me. When the exercise was almost done, we needed to collect back the field telephone and cables. I kind of suggested to my mates that we should share the work and one of them should go up and claim these items. (Yup, I'm that kind of dude then).

We went back to camp, returned the stores and waited for dinner. I still didn't tell anyone. In the bunk, I was sitting on the floor opposite this guy from the team that was laying the line at the other end of block 6. Thinking back, they had a rawer deal as their staircase entrance was facing the woods while mine was facing the command centre. Anyway, this guy look real pale and green. Then I sprang my questions. "Did you lay block 6?", "Did you hear any woman's voice?" The guy looked at me and was totally shocked out of his pants! He couldn't speak for at least 1 min and then told me his story.

When we were collecting back the equipment, this dude was unsure if his detachment ic was upstairs doing it, so he ventured upstairs to look for him. While he was at halfway between the 5th and 6th floor staircase, he called out the ic's name and got a female voice replying "Wo zai ze li" (I am here). Straightaway he dashed back downstairs. We tried to analyze and rationalize it because it was broad daylight (sunny and hot) and we had a female instructor present during the exercise. But all the time she was at the command post. Could it be a human hiding in the rooms? Finally, we approached our female sergeant (instructor) and told her our experience. She confirmed that she was at the command post all the time and the blocks are vacant. Later that evening, she revealed that we were not the only ones that "complained" about it. Apparently, previous platoons also encountered unexplained things there. After this event, the place was not used for any future line training exercises.

The story did not end...

1992 - I was in a unit and involved in this big division exercise just before my ROD. My unit was in Tekong and I had ultra sinang duties. With nothing to do at night, I sat around a bunch of store man and drivers listening to ghost stories. There was this driver that said that during his teenage days, they like to peep at lovers making out at night. One of the hotspots then was a bunch of abandoned govt blocks in Chua Chu Kang. But there was one incident whereby this girl was ditched by the boyfriends and she hung herself in one of the rooms. I couldn't believe what I have heard!

Immediately, I asked him to describe the place...it was the same BLOCK 6!!!

Does anyone have any experiences in the same vicinity? I am sure that mine is not an isolated case...

Nee Soon White house

My first freaky encounter was in the army. I was doing guard duty in Nee Soon Camp, and we have to walk pass the White House (old Officer Mess). You have to go up this stupid hill, to the white house (colonial bungalow) to the range. This range happens to be parallel to express way. We were swinging our rifles and chit chatting, talking like how the white house was supposedly haunted. Then our batons accidentally hit a tree, and a lot of bats flew out. We were a bit freaked out. The bats didn’t hit us.

As we walk up, my comrade told me that he die, die must check the ghost house (white house.) so I said okay he go check it out, and I wait in the courtyard. He entered one side. He went up the stairs, he waved at me, and I waved back. He came down, and he said he wants to go to the back. Then I saw him go round the corner, and then there was this lady who floated up and follows him round the corner. I was freaked out and I went like “wait… cannot be, cannot be.”

Then I heard him calling me from the back. So I went round and asked “Adrian, why you call me?” then he said he didn’t call me. Then I turned around and saw the lady waving at me like saying “Hi, have a nice day”

I went back to the bunk and sleep, even though I was on duty. Then the locker next to me starts vibrating. We all got up, and someone called the Sgt on duty. Nobody dared to open it. Conclusion was somebody disturbed something

Its not dun shine on the trees.. is dun shine up into the foliage i think.

Btw Sch of Signals got another one... back when i still doing signal course.. Nov 2001. Quote from my platoon mate: Doing guard duty at the Lecture block, then sitting down at a staircase to relax abit (shh dun tell my pc). suddenly see 2nd floor toilet light turn on by itself although nobody went in or out... this is an old toilet so its not sensor operated.... then suddenly hear flushing sounds from the toilet then light turn off.... Next can hear sound of boots walking down the staircase we were sitting on. Thought DO come check then siao liao... so call out challenge and bootsteps stopped a few seconds, only to resume much faster.... we run like there's no tml... SOC sure pass one.:p

REAL-LIFE STRANGE ENCOUNTER IN S'PORE xxx HOSPITAL

There was this case in this hospital's Intensive Care ward where patients always died in the same bed and on Friday mornings regardless of their age, gender, medical history or medical conditions.

This puzzled the doctors and some even thought that it had to do with the supernatural. Why the death at that same bed on Fridays? So the doctors decide to go down to that particular ward to investigate the cause of the incidents....

Come Friday morning, everyone at the hospital ward nervously waited for the terrible phenomenon to occur again.

The new = unknowing patient laid there.....

Some doctors holding wooden crosses, prayer books and other holy objects to ward off evils......... waiting....the patient was = resting still. then 8am...... 8:30am........

Just before the 'cursed' time...... the door to the ward swung open......

Scroll Down

Then Ah Soh, the part-time Friday cleaner, comes in and unplugs the life support system so that she can use the vacuum cleaner.

This is only a joke - keep smiling :)

Singapore is acclaimed to have world-class hospital facilities and medical research labs. So don't worry.

Just before the 'cursed' time...... the door to the ward swung open......

those lights do stay on at the wee hr of the night becos we recuits r not the only ones staying there
there SGTz or PC who got stuck there wif us back then too......
so they probably forgottened to switch off the light after using.......
and those lights r not timer or sensor type........they r switch on by the switch on the lamp post.............i seen PTI did it once .............
so its probably the light off-ing and On-ing aagain............it happens........even at our own basketball count here.............

Wah! Jus discovered this thread and was surprised to see so many posts liao! Share wif u all one of mine. :D

I was in Stagmont Camp for my Basic Signaller Course jus b4 i ORD in 1999. U all prolly heard of the 6th Floor of the building nearest to the guardhouse. My platoon was warned abt going up the 6th floor. The door was padlocked wif chains and wif talisman on top of the top. Two of my platoon mates were super daring. During one of the nites when we don't have nites off, they went up the 6th floor. One of the guy was great wif picking locks and he managed to open up the old padlock. Both of them walked along the corridor and came back to share their experience wif the rest of us.

According to them, each and every bunk's door had a talisman on top. From wat they could see from the window, the bunks are extremely clean... Not a sight of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling fans despite being unoccupied for so long... Wat's more, the beds are in stand-by-bed condition... We called them the banana bed if u noe wat i mean. We all felt a chill down our spine and decide to sleep early and not think abt wat they saw.

Now, these two guys' bed are separated by another guy in between. The guy who slept between them is the 'guai guai' type of fella who is low profile and keeps to himself generally. In the morning while we are having breakfast, this guy who slept in the middle grumbled loudly that he was disturbed by the commotion created by the two guys while he was asleep in the middle of the nite. He said that the two of them was sitting on the floor jus right at the end of his bed talking in Hokkien. The two guys stared at him and ****** him for accusing them of something they nvr done. Both of them claimed that they are sound aslp when the incident happened. The 'guai' guy insisted that he can recognise their voices very well and he couldn't be mistaken. An uneasy silence fell over the table and everyone jus consumed their breakfast and hurry up to draw the stores as we have an exercise later on.

The exercise went smoothly until the end of the day when we are supposed to do a count of the stores and return them. One manpack signal set was found missing. This was surprising as the day's exercise mainly involves the vehicular sets and the manpack sets were not used. Platoon sergeant and PC immediately ordered us to comb the whole exercise area for the set. We all combed for 2hrs and came back empty handed. PS and PC were very angry and tekan us at the carpark below the bunk building. PS then punished us by ordering a change parade; wanting us to change from our long fours to pt kit in 5mins. When we rushed up, we suddenly saw one of the guys froze at the door. He was the bunk ic and when he unlocked the door, he saw the manpack set on the bed of one of the guys who went up the 6th floor. No one had a chance to go back to the bunk from morning when we had breakfast, draw stores, exercise and return stores...

We immediately took the set and returned to PS. PS went quiet when he heard our story... He granted the two guys who went up the 6th floor time-off to book out of camp to buy joss sticks, joss papers and fruit offerings. The two of them came back wif the offerings and immediately prayed outside the doorsteps of the 6th floor. Dunno whether it was a human blunder or really something spooky happened but whenever we do prowling at nite and see that the whole 6th floor lights are on when the rest of the floors' lights are off, we jus keep quiet and go abt our prowling...

Look

Lancelot
21-06-2003, 10:53 PM
I have actually asked the Camp RSM b4 on the 6th floor story during my guard duty... Being in the army for so many years, he himself oso dunno the exact origin of the story... However, he related to me a personal experience of his wif the 6th floor before it was locked up.

He was the duty COS on that particular nite and he realised tat the lights on the 6th floor was on suddenly. It was ard 2 to 3am if i remembered him correctly and he was annoyed tat someone still dare to on the lights when its supposed to be lights-off already. He was a free thinker who din think much of the spooky rumors then.

He sneaked up the 6th floor stealthily hoping to catch the joker who on the lights red handed... When he reached the 6th floor, the lights have already been switched off to his disappointment... He was abt to go back down when he caught someone moving towards him from the opposite end of the corridor.

He squinted his eyes to have a good look in the darkness to try to make out who the person was. To his shock, the person shouted, "HALT!" RSM stood still and waited for the person to come nearer thinking it could be one of the nite prowlers...

He was not prepared for wat he's going to see... He saw this guy wearing a red sash (BOS, if u all noe wat i mean) across the ancient SAF uniform (the one that doesn't have any camouflage) looking at him angrily. My RSM din wait a minute longer and dashed down the stairs for his life and vowed nvr to go up there alone in the nite again...

Two RSS Courageous officers charged with causing deaths of 4 service women

By Johnson Choo

Two navy officers from the RSS Courageous have been charged with causing the deaths of four service women who were onboard the vessel.

Lieutenant Chua Chue Teng, a 23-year-old trainee officer, is alleged to have navigated RSS Courageous in an unsafe manner across the path of the cargo vessel, ANL Indonesia, on January 3.

Four service women died as a result of the collision.

Lieutenant Ng Keng Yong, a 27-year-old officer of the watch, is alleged to have failed to supervise Lieutenant Chua.

Both officers are out on bail of $10,000.

Their cases will come up for mention again on July 8.

this story was told by my cousin..... he was from tekong back in 1995.....

according to him one of his platoon mate brought pork into the camp.... then at
night, he felt that somebodi is strangling him, he cannot breathe sort of thing....
being a person with some asthma history, he was sent to then still in operation
OCH for treatment for a possible asthma attack.... which later the doctor found
finger marks around his neck

my cousin buddy, a malay guy told my cousin that the camp was built on an old
muslim cemetery..... and the spirit was angered becos that guy brought pork into
the camp....

tekong non-muslim cookhouse can have pork, no problem...
cos got "bless" before... and if the thing still very hiong, they got put altar there...

actually the BMTC area is very "clean" liao... cos when got alot of people, those things usually siam...

[that's why everytime got any story, usually it's from Gryphon... cos it's at the edge of BMTC, furthest from the jetty, closest to the forest... and legend says that the canal just beside the company is "dirty" also...]

SISPEC further in... so very obvious if you go SISPEC cookhouse and see... got 1 altar there everyday got put oranges and incense one...

and behind SISPEC hq building... separate them from the forest, got one quite big altar also...

so all this means can bring pork in and cook for trainee, no problem...

if u dare to bring pork to other places than the cookhouse... good luck man...

last time something happen was last year around start of year, 4SIR got exercise there... someone bring pork... anyone from that unit that time, can share story??? ;-)

i was from the old tekong, bmtc. camp 3 Gryphon and well, we had some "fun" there... we had platoon mates who would do pee in the middle of the night and not remember anything about it. any of us seeing him would of course ask him "also cannot sleep ah?" and no reply, he'd look like a zombie.

we've had the usual black shadow (hang on... i though shadows were supposed to be black) but... heck, hanging over some one's bed.

people being "pressed" in their sleep.

during one of our IFC field camps we were at the rubber tree plantation (can't remember the actual name liao) but you guys who have been to tekong will know that place, it's got these rubber trees planted very nicely in neat rows, i think for us to tie up our ropes for out bashas. but that place was creepy... we would make up rows in section level, and we'd have platoon mates who cannot sleep at night coz they can the the shadow of a hand pressing down and see their bashas being disturbed. next day we ask the prowlers and they didn't see anything.

any one remember the old infantry HQ building beside camp 3? theres this ammo dumo beside it right? with a slope beside it where we had to go up and around to sign on the prowler book? the dogs would never follow us up that slope, they'd howl a few times, wait at the bottom of the slope and continue prowling with us after we get back down.

also had a sect comm who said he saw the security video of that place and saw a bright white shadowy thing loitering about the gates of the ammo dump also.

i'm also from the old SMM (after bmtc) at ulu pandan and there's a whole lot of stories of that place. apparently there was a murder in the forest behind the school and the girl is still around. some of the bunks-theres one cupboard that is permamantly sealed (with masking tape! what a joke!!) and people in that bunk can never sleep properly, the little power station / pump house right at the end of the road, the slope going into the forest beside the canteen are all favourite hang out spots...

I remembered once when i was training in brunei while sleeping in the jungle at nite during our topo , i can actually hear quran prayers sound. But then the thing is , me and my team are sleeping in the middle of the jungle, according to the map , nearest civilisation being 6km away. Therefore we found it impossible as sound dun travel so far. Later in the morin when i ask them about hearing any sound heard last nite, only some of them said the heard something. I was pretty sure the entire team did'nt really sleep cos it was raining the whole nite and was dame cold. On the other hand, the malay guys in my team told me that they all have bad dreams....... :blushed: ??

The other encounter is during one training mission on tekong near the beach landing area ( close to the swamp up north ) , we were advancing toward the obj in an indian file. As nite time in tekong was unusually dark, the guy behind the other could only make out the outline of the guy in front. I thought i was following behind this "guy" until we suddenly stumble upon a bright spot ( moonlight on less vegetated areas ) the outline of the guy in front suddenly disappered. WTF ? I discovered what i have been following was not a guy but a "f**king shadow" ? Lucky i have my section mate behind and it took us quite sometime to do a link up. I have heard many stories about sighting in this part of tekong and there are rumours that the swamp is one of the "dirtest" place in tekong other than "the hill", "hot spring", and reclaimed land near "doga bridge".

What have U guys heard so far.
