To put it simply, there aren't any blocks with double ZEROs or for some rare case, triple ZEROs.

I guess maybe the 1st number (for triple digit numbers) or the 1st 2 numbers (for 4 digit blk numbers) represents the zone within the hdb town. (Eg, 700 series of flats in Bedok is along bedok reservoir, 500 series is in bedok north etc.) Double digits counted as 3 digits with zero as the 1st digit.

So you start numbering the flats in this manner: zone 5 flats 1 => Blk501, zone 7 35th flats => Blk 735. No zero coz always count one for the very first flat mah. Hence there's never a case of double or triple zeros?

HDB nv applies because it is not to make zero look like alphabet "o"..coz some residence used alphabet behind the block...
moreover those like 100 200 300 till mayb 900 are used for public facilities...example market and shopping centre...every building needs an address...
and some ppls will purposely try to rake up the property prices with this convienent number due to high demand...just imagine singapore property price so high liao and still wanna make other ppls suffer by paying high price?? anyway the consumer shall benefit...not the seller...else later CASE will sure knock on the seller head...
try out this: go and find if you can find building that has triple 5 till triple 9 anot...

but are you able to find a residential block that is block 700??
and from my knowledge those 700 with alphabets are all shophouses rite??
that is the planning of URA, HDB and SLA...in order to control the land and property price...
URA is Urban Redevelopment Authority
HDB need not elaborate
SLA is Singapore Land Authority

Near my home at yishun.. there's a block with 666 (mark of the beast aka Satan..)
and it's built next to a junction.

In the western sense, 666 is definitely not a favorable no.
In the chinese fengshui, it's super super suay to place a home at the junction..

In fact the western also regarded junctions as "dirty".

There's one Blk 555 in AMK AVE 10 and BLK 444 in AVE 3. Both blks is near to each other.........444 is a HDB Blk(Notice that there's always funaral there.......)for 555 is a 2 storey blk....

anyway i think AMK is considered rather an old estate,with quite a lot of elderly there(although there are still youngster lah)...put it in that way that people live and ppls die...(the funeral situation will be more in the future due to the number of elderly increased and less young)it is just a coincident that many funeral is held there..if really that block so sway, those who wanna commit suicide can buy a apartment and then wait for death..dun need to jump down or overdose pills liao...die also die peacefully...

btw we r slightly off topic...the topic for this thread is still y no apartment is named in the hundreds.. :)

yupz chayedan! i beg to differ.. me and all my relatives are staying closely to each other at and near 555 amk. the price of the flat is def higher due to the size. and oso, near to CTE and town central many markets there blah (x3) all these had to be taken to consideration. and yes i been to yishun blk 666, hunting for flats. dun think its exp oso la as compare to the nearby ones. it still depend on the facilites nearby. and oso for e.g on the block, the price may diff for the same unit but diff floor. the higher u stay the higher u pay.

My aunt lived at blk 556. at ang mo kio. very near to blk 555. last year dec i went back to my cousin weddings at ang mo kio. first thing went back saw this funeral under the blk 556...when i am young got live at my aunt block dere.. didnt see any same no. [555 , 444] happening lehh..
