Best i dunno, but you can try these locations.

--- Tien Tien Steamboat, at Tan Quee Lan Street just behind Bugis Junction. (Must call ahead to make reservations cos it's alwayz fully booked). The huo guo is split into 2, so can also try the fish soup base as it's their "award-winning" soup. :p

--- Beijing Hotpot at Marina South near Long Beach Seafood

Hope this helps :D

Hmmmz, I'm not so sure myself about Beijing Hotpot cos also introduced by friend. If I'm correct, it used to be located in Geylang/Aljunied area and relocated to Marina South, so see if anyone else can help you there :D Anyway, I'm guessing it should be buffet bah. If i go Marina will check it out for you. If you go, must remember to post here :p I want eat also!!! Haha

Hehe think i'm the other forummer who gave tien tien the tumbs down. Believe me it sux. And i discovered something when i was eating there tat time....they reject couples who come without booking. Instead, they accept those who were 3/4. Guess its for them to earn more $$ as 4 ppl oso use the same size of pot.

Now to the food. The spread is not as per the pics, alot of stuff were not there (even basic things like button mushrooms were missing). The Ma La soup is chilli oil soup, chicken meat was like its from some lao mu ji......enuff said, u can try if u want, but yr money will be better spent at 'chong qing huo guo' though more ex give u better food n service.

Went to Chong Qing to eat steamboat some time back. Price is about $20 for lunch and $30+ for dinner. The service is really good that your empty plates nv stay there for long, and the food you request are rapidly replenished.

Soup wise is split into 2, those "yin-yang" or "yuan yang" type. The mala soup quite fiery at first but got used to it after a while. The other soup i really can't tell the taste cos kinda bland and i spent most of my time attacking the mala portion  BTW, the mala soup is not those chilli oil kind, think is brewed kind.

Nice selection of meats and others with a small set of ready-to-eat stuff like gyoza. Not bad but prices kinda steep. Have to save up to go again :)

It's buffet ala carte style, those buffet type but you have to order the dishes for them to come and not those like Seoul Garden where you take them yourself. The ingredients more fresh this way :) And i didn't have to wait long for each order to come.

Got 1 Chong Qing Steamboat at Lucky Plaza... The steamboat is divided into 2 ("yuan-yang"), can choose hot n non-hot soup based.... Hot soup based still can choose degree of hotness.... It a buffet al carte style... Must try the fish paste is nice... Is raw fish paste lay flat on the plate then the waiter will use the soup to run over the paste, then the paste is cooked......

the 麻辣 soup is actually the soup mixed with chilli paste, sesame paste and so on..so pls tell them how hot u wan it...too hot later ur stomach catch fire...

the tien tien is terrible, the food kinda sux IMO, and the service is :( dun ever suggest bringing friends there, later make u lose face keke :p

anyway, there is this restaurant, i think chong qing oso at tanglin shopping centre or something...the soup the is not bad and nice and quiet, suitable for most gatherings.

Marina SOuth (near Long Beach Rest.) has another "mala" steamboat ...think is "ReD Room...da pai dang" or something like that! Its at the end of marina south. I like their service n the "mala" soup is very different from others! After tasting their soup.... my tongue really becomes numb...as in "ma" This one is a MUST TRY! Moreover this is cheaper than "Shek Tong Tian". $18.80+++ per pax for dinner. Total me n husband spent $51.

As for Suntec, the "Shek Tong Tian", they have a variety of food there (a lot more than the Marina SOuth one though) . The taste of the soup....to me is very hot ,..spicy hot...no numb feeling lor... ;-) Both worth the trying

Suntec convention has a steamboat and that is "Joaquim". "Shek Tong Tian" is at Basement 1 where the "Fountain of Wealth" roundabout is. Check out this link if you want to know the exact location. :) http://www.sunteccity.com.sg/retail/index.htm

Details: Chinese Feasts Restaurant
The Chinese Feasts offers chinese cuisine ranging from Sichuan specialities, roasts, ChongQing Hot Pot, to congees. Must-trys include homemade Golden Tofu Bar with Broccoli, Roasted Red Wine Chicken Cutlet, spare ribs with special sauce and the Merlion Fried Rice.

the beef given was dry and dark...sure put in frigde too long...then the rest of the food very unappetising...

althought the staff (aunties from china or taiwan i forgot) r friendly and asked u how the food, i didnt question tell them about the freshness. But they asked if we know how to eat mala etc etc.

china town has one.. very near the CK department store.. in front of the market(the shop can see both ck department store and the wet market).

The soup is power, damn hot, selection however is pretty limited.. but free flow of drinks.. if i am not wrong, it is $20 net per head.

Chong Qing one is nice, just that maybe can avoid going on weekend dinner time.. super packed.. Lunch buffet is cheap and not much people to fight for space with you.
